I have always had a passion for the environment, always loved the trees, the grass, the clear blue sky. Being raised on a farm instilled in me early on to love the land and protect it. Thus, promoting green energy is a natural for me.
Those were the wonderful days of my youth. I often think what if there had been no green trees or grass, the sky had been filled with smog and pollution filled the crystal blue waterways! Would I still have those good memories? Probably not!
In the good ole days, I feel people always respected the land, and took very good care of the environment because of that admiration. Today, I feel a difference in the way society feels about the environment, not like in my younger days, and that scares me. Do I think we don’t care? Of course not, but we are just so busy we often forget to think about the beauty that surround us. I just hope before it is too late that society realizes the need to take better care of our environment, so that our future will continue to bring us lasting memories of a beautiful world.
I don’t know whether you have noticed it or not but there has been a noticeable change in the climate everywhere. Much colder and more snow in the winter, the summers are much warmer. I feel that it is due to the ozone being destroyed using petroleum and coal products. Also, I feel if we used solar, wind or magnetic energy, and give back to the grid, we would greatly reduce our dependence on oil and would financially better ourselves and the environment because of it.
I have got to understand, if the sun generates 200,000 times more energy than we use monthly, why we all are not using solar energy to power our homes! I strongly believe that this world would be in a much better shape if we all would take action and use green energy products for ourselves and set an excellent example for our younger generation. I feel too that we must all start now changing the way we live and doing everything we can to protect ourselves and our environment before it will be too late for the ozone!
I hope I have bestowed into my children the same desire to respect and admire the beauty that surrounds us so that it will be here for generations to come.
